Exit Polls Reveal Interesting Results

Larry Moreno has been declared winner of the Cincinnati City Council race. He will officially begin his new position in a few weeks. The election was close, with Grant Brock behind Moreno by only four votes. The Daily Dishrag has reached out to members of the electorate and the campaigns, in addition to compiling data from exit polls.

Grant Brock released a final statement to the media saying, “I would like to thank the constituents and all those who worked on the campaign. I had lots of fun through the course of it. I wish we could have won, but I believe Cincinnati has a bright future with Mr. Moreno.” Based on data from exit polls, Brock won the support 65% of female voters and 74% of Democratic voters. Despite these positive numbers, the Brock campaign came up just short.

Vanessa Abbott told us that it was too difficult for even a moderate Republican to win a city council race in this city, but congratulates Moreno on his victory. However, the Daily Dishrag’s exit polls reveal a different story. Out of the ten members of the electorate that identified as Republican, six of them voted for Larry Moreno. So even though Abbott was the only Republican in the city council race, she did not win a majority of Republican voters. The data suggests a similar story in regard to gender. Out of the seventeen voters that identified as female, only four voted for Vanessa Abbott.

When we reached out to Larry Moreno for a comment, he had just one thing to say: “The city of Cincinnati was ready for more!” En route to victory, Moreno won a majority of male, African-American, and Republican voters.
